Lost in the depths of time, the history of Mauritania has been marked by the great civilisations. Rising from the Sahara and closely related to the most authentic \u201cdesert civilisation\u201d, Mauritania has, through the centuries, connected the Africa of the Mediterranean with the Bilad Es Sudan, that is Black Africa. It is a history with a memorable and worthy past and with a wholesome, conscious and dynamic civilisation, which knew how to mix races and traditions together without fear, and to draw energy from variety. We wish to interpret this complex universe, which played a leading role in the ancient and the medieval world; a distant history, often still cloudy, which leads us to the origins of human changes that began even before the Neolithic era.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
