His recollections, a source of inspiration for the Ancient Greek writers, reveal a plot of the famous legend according to Alexander the Great at the time of his adolescence entered the Dikteon Cave \u2013the sacred birthplace of Zeus, deposited his offerings from Macedonia amongst the human-shaped stalactites and finally reached manhood in an archetypical coming of age ceremony.
