In Egypt\u2019s capital, Cairo, we visit Mukattam, the city of garbage collectors where over 40.000 inhabitants survive by recycling garbage. In this Coptic community we find Mariusz Dybich, a Polish sculptor who makes monumental sculptures on the walls of the Coptic Monastery.
\nVisits to the famous Khan al Khalili bazaar, Coptic Churches and Muslim mosques bring a real atmosphere of today\u2019s Egypt. In the Nile Delta an archaeological team from Cracow and Poznan discover an early settlement from 5500 years ago. The oldest breweries and presentations of Egyptian rulers are found in Tell-el-Farkha, one of the biggest archaeological sensations in Egypt in recent years. Discoveries in Delta region throw new light on one of the least studied periods of Egypt\u2019s history.
\nOur journey along the Nile ends in Alexandria where archaeologists uncovered ruins of the Roman town in the city center. Among many great discoveries, the most spectacular are the world\u2019s oldest known ruins of a university.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
