The story of a man who abandons his wife and eight year old son in Athens, after his cousin is murdered in the White Mountains of Crete.
Returning to a small, remote community, Yiannis confronts his past and pledges to honour his cousin Ilias, a sheperd. He struggles to carry on Ilias’ calling, a dying tradition kept alive by a handfil of isolated men, high up in the snow, in the barren White Mountains overlooking the Lybian Sea.
