The cult of Mithras at Rome

By 23/10/2012November 8th, 2021No Comments

We possess almost no literary evidence that may help us to solve the mysteries of the cult of Mithras, which had an exceptional diffusion in Rome and all over the Roman empire. All we know about this religion is only based on the archaeological analysis of the places of worship and on the studies of the iconography that has remained. So the film tries to show the characteristics of this religion by means of the images filmed in some Roman Mithraea and the sculptures and relieves in the National Museum of Rome.
