The film is a reconstruction of an episode from Book 10 of the Odyssey: the blinding of the Cyclops Polyphemus by Odysseus and his companions. Iconographical material used is the well-known depiction on the proto-attic amphora, now in the Eleusis Museum near Athens. The amphora was originally used for the burial of a child.
Since the film’s intended audience are the children visiting the Museum, the commentary has been written in the manner of popular Greek fairy-tales using digital special effects.
