The documentary “The Olive Tree and Olive Oil of Cyprus” completes a wine-bread-oil trilogy.

The geographer Strabo gave Cyprus the appellation “evelaios” or “of good oil” with the mush in demand Cypriot olive-oil also being described by Synesious as “light and eupeptic”.

The long road from the cultivation of the olive-tree to the production of olive-oil, whether light or dark, is also the course followed by this film. It also makes use of what are possibly the last opportunities to immortalize scenes encompassing some of the protagonists of Cyprus rural life.
