The classic popular puppet theater of Sicily, which has since vanished, revives the mythical deeds of the King of France’s retinue and the adventures of the Trojan war, in an authentic representation with scenes “from reality”, that is with “puppets” reciting from the sanctuary of Segesta, in the midst of Sicilian castles and rugged on coasts and in the shady Plaja forest. This film won the best photography award at the Taormina Festival of 1948.
Dialogues, voices, music and authentic sound effects, recorded live (for the first time). All dialogues are exclusively recited by puppeteer, in accordance with tradition. Contrary to common use, the back of the stage is real.
